Dr. George Zhaojun Liu is an associate professor in School of Electronics & Information Engineering in Sun Yat-sen University and an assistant professor in Sun Yat-sen University-Carnegie Mellon University Joint Institute of Engineering (JIE) and Shunde International Joint Research Institute (JRI). He was a visiting professor in Carnegie Mellon University in 2015-2016 and adjunct professor in 2014-2016. He received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from the Hebei University of Technology in 2003, the M.Phil. degree in Physical Electronics from Nankai University in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2011. Dr. Liu is the author of 50+ journal and conference publications and hold 60+ US & China patents. Dr. Liu and his team won the second place in the 2011 One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition. He is a founding member of LEDoS Tech. Limited and CLEDoS Green Tech. Limited. He is a core member of the 5th Guangdong Pearl River Innovation Team. His research topics include micro-LED displays, electronics & photonics integration, low-dimensional material & devices, and flat-panel displays.
