Compuforum 2016: Innovations in Growing Mobile Ecosystem
The mobile device industry stands at a critical juncture in 2016. According to the global research firm TrendForce, worldwide smartphone shipments are projected to grow by just 5.7% this year, a pale comparison to the annual growth rate of 10.3% in 2015. However, advances in communication technologies and increasing connectivity have led to a massive surge of applications for smartphones. Moreover, the saturation of the market has accelerated smartphone vendors’ efforts to differentiate themselves through product features and value-added services. This expansion of the mobile ecosystem, which is also fueled by the Internet of Things, creates new challenges and opportunities for component suppliers. Next-generation product designs will thus have to meet new requirements of emerging applications, such as the fast-growing mobile payment and mobile health sectors.
TrendForce will hold this year’s Compuforum at Taiwan’s Computex 2016 on May 31. The overall theme of the conference is “The Future of Mobile Devices,” and will feature keynote presentations by representatives from major component OEMs. Topics include smartphone processors, mobile storage solutions, and wireless technologies. Sean Yang, research director of TrendForce’s memory division DRAMeXchange, will also be there to discuss the latest trends in the NAND Flash market.
Compuforum 2016 is generously sponsored by SanDisk, the global leader in Flash storage solutions. This afternoon conference is an incredible chance for attendees to gain valuable industry-related knowledge and build connections with major international technology companies. Admission is free and seating is limited, so register now.
